KITSAP & GIG HARBOR
FAMILIES AND NEWBORNS
For your new addition, milestones, holiday cards, all the grown-up kids being in town at the same time, or just to capture life exactly as it is, right in this moment. I'll document you and yours and it won't feel like pulling teeth--just all of you in your element, with me following close behind. Questions about family & in-home newborn sessions? Keep scrolling to review my most popular FAQs, or reach out on my contact form--I'm here to help!
Remember: my pricing always includes your full, unlimited gallery--meaning that I don't upcharge per image, or cap how many you receive back--because I honor your time and effort to be here with me, and I'd never want to withhold all of those sweet shots of the in-between moments.

My rescheduling policy is intentionally flexible, and I reserve dates off of my booking calendar for clients who may need to adjust their session for any reason. This is the nature of the job; I never want you to feel stuck or pressured if baby doesn't arrive by their due date, someone comes down with a cold, or your toddler decides to be the absolute angriest they have ever been the day of the photoshoot. ;) If you have any questions about this policy, please don't hesitate to reach out.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My child doesn't sit still for photos. What should I do?

Neither does mine. In fact, I found out she had learned how to run during family photos at the park when she took off mid-shot. Don't stress--we're not here to capture a caricature of your kids' love and joy, we're here to tell the story of exactly who they are, right in this moment. And no matter how many times they go running off on their own adventures, you're still going to end up with a gallery of happy images you want to hang on your walls.
What can we expect from an in-home newborn session?

I love in-home sessions for a lot of reasons, and especially when it comes to newborns. With all of the logistics of getting baby out of the house (and especially when there are older siblings in the mix), sometimes driving to a studio or outdoor location causes stress that leaks into the session itself, and that's not what we want! In your home, you're comfortable in your natural environment and you have easy access to all the things you could possibly need (no panicking because you forgot the diaper bag or looking for a comfortable place to nurse!). You can expect a completely relaxed session that allows for feedings, soothing, and diaper changes with some prompting in between.

Is my house/apartment cute enough for an in-home session?

All I really need for these sessions is a window, and a bed/chair/seating area. Even better--if you have one or two rooms with windows that are mostly tidied up (it doesn't have to be perfect--we will push laundry piles to the side as needed!)! Some families decide we're doing the whole session in the nursery or bedroom, some decide to jump between a couple of their favorite well-lit rooms, some take me around the whole house to really get a feel of the day-to-day. It is totally up to you. Nothing needs to be perfect.

When should we book our newborn session for?

I recommend booking a day within the first two weeks of baby's due date - they are often sleepiest and snuggliest at this point which makes the whole session a little more relaxed! But there are no rules, and I'll come take photos of your family in your home no matter what age your littles are.

What if baby arrives late? What if we get sick?

I have a flexible rescheduling policy for newborn sessions knowing that these things do happen! If baby hasn't arrived by your session date - or they arrive the day before and you're not ready to be in front of the camera, etc - reach out and we will pick a new date together. If you're feeling unwell, same goes!

I'm still stressed.

I get it--I really do! As a Type A control freak, one of the biggest lessons my kids have taught me is that not everything is under my control, and I am actively learning to lean into that; while doing so, I'm also learning that the people around me offer a lot of grace, patience, and understanding. I bring that grace, patience, and understanding to your session! If you're worried that baby is going to cry the whole time, older sibling is going to tantrum, spit up is going to end up on clothes and outfit changes are going to be required...know that I 100% expect these things to happen and it isn't going to change whether we get beautiful, honest images of you and your little family.
